It Belongs To Us
An afternoon of architectural exploration with a group of young students interesting in further study at the University of East London.
Using scrap cardboard and simple crafting techniques, participants where asked to explore what cities mean to them, how would they change the built environment to suit their needs, what spaces do they already value and which would they like more of?
Under the title of ‘It Belongs To Us’ they imagined taking ownership over the future of London, inspired by some of the cutting-edge materials and technologies housed within UEL’s Centre For Sustainability, a new city of the future was born with public and private green spaces, places to socialise and be entertained, and dignified housing for all.
Made possible with the generous funding of UEL, with materials and expertise supplied by Art in The Docks, this was an evolution of our previous Royal Docks Reimagined programme.
