Aldgate Square

A series of public consultations with users of spaces in Whitechapel, shaped through exploratory models and playful sketching, directed the design for a couple of characterful benches, temporarily housed in Aldgate Square.

Formed from readily-available timber sections, with discrete fixings to ensure safety around the public, they were designed and built with LudwigWillis Architects in collaboration with students in architecture and fine art at London Metropolitan University.

Made possible with funding secured by London Metropolitan University’s CASS Projects, provided by London Festival of Architecture.
